memtest is telling you pretty unequivocally that there is bad
RAM in the system - remove it and replace it with good units
if possible, and keep running memtest until the errors go
away.
Stop trying to boot an Ubuntu live session, that's not going
to help anyone or anything - use GRML, systemrescuecd or
another distro more suited for the purpose to get the system
up (you won't have to fight stupid things like disabling
driver modesetting and ACPI, etc, just to get your live
environment functioning).
This will rule out bad RAM and a faulty boot disk (the disk
might still be faulty of course, you're just sidestepping it
by booting off alternative sources) and if the PC will come up
and function at this point most of the battle is won already.
You'd probably be well advised to run smartctl on a short
selftest at this point to get a health check on the disk, even
before you try and fsck it or retrieve data.
Good luck
