Your laptop is using SSL on port 465. The desk machine, being on port
587 will complain about lack of authorisation.
Several options fro the desktop;
Change SMTP to port 25, leave authorisation off.
Leave SMTP port at 587 and turn on STARTTLS.
Change SMTP to port 465 and turn on SSL.
