Yes the ee does this as well with Fedora and Mint it was ok on this but
Ubuntu its quite scary having 30 s of blank screen at boot.

I think thats for the 'splash screen of your choice' - I normally tryand get it to just stream the boot screen - not that I can read thatfast these day!
