Has Windows been leaving the temporary files in place? (usually either preceded with a tilde character or with the .tmp extension). They are hidden files by default so you'll either need to enable the viewing of hidden files or use a terminal. Have a check of this page as well: it's unlikely the default OpenOffice backup directories for Windows and Linux are clashing but check. https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4383 You may need to change your fstab line to include a umask.
