Net install is relatively easy ONCE you have the server setup, and have configured the client machine to do a netboot. I personally think that if you are going to do this on a several machines it can be worth while as old machines dont often have fast cd's and it can be a lot quicker this way. One way you can do a quick install is to set up an ubuntu machine with proxy caching of repositories as a server and then you can use the minimum install disk (make a usb boot of it?) and point it at the server when it asks. This can be quite good if you are installing a lot of machine on the same network as they can use the caching into the future and once the server has updated the others can update pretty quickly from it. I would hope debian have a similar small install ISO but I've not looked. Tom te tom te tom |
