Well said Simon. Freedom zero: you can use the software however you like for whatever purpose you like. That freedom is a no-strings gift.
For me, it was a radical change in my outlook to move from "Wow, this is no-guilt shareware!" (I actually paid for most shareware I used in the '90s) to "Oh, I see, there's literally no difference here between producer and consumer. I can be both! Oh, and now I come to think of it, because of x, I already am both!" I find this fulfilling and satisfying, empowering and exciting. That's what I'm hoping to spread.
