Yes, it helps to have someone on the team who remembers that. :-)Except except... different people always turn out to envision startlingly different values for the term "the software" (ditto "it works"), and only discussion with some decision at the end (and tests) can settle the differences. You can *try* writing complete, correct, unambiguous, objective, definitive, quantitative, deterministic, testable specifications beforehand, of course; let me know how that works out for you if you do. ;-)
