If you're on Fedora then you'll have to fight with the piece of crap that is firewalld - brought to you by the same idiots who foisted systemd, pulseaudio and a whole bunch of other hateful rubbish on us. OpenSuse is about the only distro I can immediately think of that handles out of the box firewalling with relative aplomb. So, it's a fair point, but I doubt that the firewall is going to be a problem.
