It might be worth looking at XBMC as well, it's a great media solution with a lot of great addons (DVR, catchup tv etc)
Netflix is the biggest problem, as they use silverlight and the linux-based solutions aren't supported. Unless you're talking about something like the Roku players, but that's something different again.
Then again, if you're getting a connected TV you might have netflix already built in.

Mythbuntu, with the stable PPA.
