Depending on the kind of anonymity you want, this may or may not be a problem. What are these "similar projects" by the way? We previously discussed DNS-based lists of Tor exit nodes that are active at a given moment. I didn't see the rationale behind it, but someone recently told me it may be because "that bad traffic from my IP address wasn't me, I was running a Tor exit node" is sometimes used as a defense in court. Speaking of Tor, if you're interested in very interesting, slightly paranoid talks, with lots of praise for open source, do a YouTube search for "Jacob Appelbaum". He's one of the guys behind Tor.
