I live between the Plympton and Caradon transmitters. Although Caradon is much further away (and the signal has to go through the neighbours walls), the aerial is pointed towards the Plympton transmitter (which is almost line of sight). When we went digital the signal was good sometimes, but totally useless at others. Break up, or complete loss, of the signal was very common. The problem was not the aerial or its cable, but the wallplate and the leads from that to the TV/freeview box. I replaced the cables with double screened ones, and the wallplate with a shielded one too. Now I have no problems at all, the difference just by replacing the cables was quite amazing. Signal strength is now 10/10 for most channels. Very rarely have any signal breakup. I bought the cables and faceplate from here: http://www.aerialsandtv.com/index.html Good luck, John. -- John Horne, Plymouth University, UK Tel: +44 (0)1752 587287 Fax: +44 (0)1752 587001 -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
