I was running apt-get upgrade, glibc conflicted with non free nvidia driver, uninstall yes, could not revert to original xorg.conf as nvidia-installer created the original (only) xorg.conf... Forced me to delete. Couldn't continue with dpkg --configure -a, reboot... Now i have no display.
Downloaded system rescue cd... Now trying to find where the root is mounted so i can go in and create a crude xorg.conf - also download xorg-display-noverau... Or however its spelt.
Going back to Cornwall until friday today! So annoyed i broke it... Was working so well
