You could always use mysql in interactive mode. I test all my queries there before going 'live' with them. -----Original Message----- From: list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Simon Waters Sent: 08 January 2013 13:24 To: list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [LUG] MySQL Command Line client "edit" Can mysql command line tool be made to echo the command saved? Rather un-intuitively it seems to run the command when you hit enter after quitting the editor. Also are there any tools people recommend for database development work on a Debian Desktop. Could have done with a good Query editor yesterday as I spent way too long debugging a typo in a JOIN condition. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
