I keep trying, honestly... But for work, Windows in my environment is a more productive solution. No incompatibilities with other systems, the OS is supported for banking and drivers are there for everything. At home, I use Windows on my desktop because I'm also a gamer. I've actually been using Mint on my thinkpad, but this morning I booted into Windows on that because it wouldn't suspend last night because "VLC Is running". VLC had zombied, I couldn't kill the processes even with -9. So intead of dropping off to sleep, I spent ten minutes trying to solve that before shutting the whole thing down, which left me irritated and annoyed. I keep trying variations and I see progress every time, but these little niggles that require five or ten minutes to sort out each time stop every distro I've tried from being a transparent interface to what I want to do. So far, but I'll keep trying... Windows 8 might be the game changer for many, though.
