Interesting. Thinking about this today I switched on my printer and then opened up the router admin pages. As suggested above I clicked on 'attached devices'. Only one item was found, namely my desktop computer which is indeed the only one running at the moment. No sign of the printer anywhere. Indeed the help notes with the page say that 'this page shows the IP address ......... for each computer attached to the router'. Note, 'each computer' nothing else. Can I suggest an alternative solution to the root problem of having the printer stick with the same IP address so it doesn't get lost on the network... With your router set to full DHCP and the printer switch on, take a look at the "attached devices". You should see a list of IPs and device names. Most routers have the ability to reserve the IPs listed here for particular devices. Find the printer, and reserve it's IP. This way, DHCP fully handles all your devices so any device can attach at any time, get all the info it needs to route through to the internet and the printer keeps the same IP even if the router or printer gets switched off at any point. As I say, interesting. I am writing this as I am trying to get my printer to print via instructions from my wife's laptop. Her computer finds the correct printer (the only one in fact) and seems to send the print command correctly but nothing happens. The requested print job never appears in the print queue. Strange.
