DNS misconfiguration, either in Network Manager or the router (or both). With static IP assignment, you have to tell the host not just what its IP address is, but also where the router is ('gateway'), usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, and where domain names ('www.google.co.uk') can be looked up and resolved to an IP address. Your router needs to be configured (almost certainly already is) to use your ISP's DNS. If (almost always the case) your router serves as a DNS relay for your LAN, then you can just configure each host to use your router for DNS; that is, enter the router's IP address (192.168.1.1) for *both* 'gateway' *and* 'DNS'.
