Far from it, if anything Microsoft have (yet again) hoodwinked the industry into applying patches to the bios which could lock out linux (especially for those that experiment with kernel builds) and limit it to a few "rich kid distros" that can afford to get their kernels signed .... patching would become an nightmare and basically all done in the name of security .... all in the name of "windows security" ... if they cant sort their bootkit problems without a debilitating bios boot "feature" then they should not be allowed to market sub standard code .....On 15/12/12 21:43, Philip Hudson wrote:http://www.linuxinsider.com/story/Top-5-Linux-Predictions-for-2013-76823.html2013 : Still not the year of the linux desktop then. lol. I hope for once the EU gets its arse in gear and actually enforces some of that interoperability legislation they have supposedly introduced..... Me doubts it.
The argument about the switch in the bios is very cynical considering most OEM's will probably decide to save costs and not provide the switch in the first place ie windows wins by default (again) ......
