Hi Paul, Thanks for spotting this. Shame on them !!! Microsnot can't design software that will compete on the open market, so instead of improving the software they close the market. This will have at least two consequences: - 1. The price of 'old' machines (which can run any OS) will rise considerably. 2. Someone somewhere will invoke european ant-competition laws, unless Microsnot has plans to buy them off. Regards etc, Ray. >----Original Message---- >From: zleap@xxxxxxxxx >Date: 01/06/2012 10:35 >To: <list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Subj: [LUG] fedora pays Microsoft to boot > >http://boingboing.net/2012/05/31/lockdown-freeopen-os-maker-p.html > >this was posted to the Ubuntu forum, I have contacted my Local MP on >this, if others do the same then it may show that a number of people >are concerned about the issues and anti competition. > We should have the right to choose what Operating system we use / install. > > >If people think however this is ineffective please suggest an >alternative as to what we can do, > >Paul > >-- > >-- >http://drupal.zleap.net>http://www.ubuntu.com> >skype : psutton111 >http://www.linkedin.com/pub/paul-sutton/36/595/911> > >-- >The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG >http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list>FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq > -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
