I've been playing around with this a little. It's quite cool, you can do things like this http://html5slides.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/template/index.html In fact, you can do far more advanced things (and make your presentations really interactive) if you know your way around HTML5. Which I don't yet, but I'm learning. No doubt the same is possible using Powerpoint or OpenOffice Presentation, but it looks better than just about anything I've seen done in those. And I like it that when I want bullet points to appear on the screen I just write <ul><li> etc. rather than click the bullet point-icon only to find that these aren't the kind of bullets that I need.
