I had to reset the router first. Now I have added the phone. One difference, when I looked earlier the list showed my desktop computer and the router. Now it shows the phone only under Address Reservation heading. When I click on add I see the desktop computer as if it is waiting to be added. Strange. so far it seems to be working. Tomorrow will be the acid test. Just some questions. If this set up works and I keep it does it mean that the phone will work with my router only? Or will I be able to log on to other routers if I visit eg my son? Is this just a work around as opposed to a proper solution? I am wondering because I suspect that Sony and/or Google have either not done something they should have done or done something in error. I can't believe that these problems are normal, and many people are complaining about it on the internet. It seems to be particularly with Gingerbread v 2.3.4.
