Gordon Honestly, for a single 8Gb win2ksp4 P2V conversion it's just 30 minutes work. Download and install VMware standalone converter and install on the old box: run and follow the wizard, dumping the resulting image across the network straight to the new VM host. Create a blank win2k VM in VirtualBox, attach the converted image to it as the hard drive. Snapshot, start, install guest additions, run windows update, restart, re-snapshot, done. Unless you have some really sophisticated stuff running on that win2k machine (yeah, right) it'll be a walk in the park.
