Can anybody tell me how I install a tar.gz package, please? I've got it in my Dowloads folder; I open the terminal and enter the command, tar xfvz eldy23.tar.gz and get the error, "Cannot open: No such file or directory". Am I doing something incorrectly? Is there an easier / better way to install a tar.gz file?? Thanks for any help. Jack.
