A non "Disneyland" KDE 4 desktop is the default and it worked out of the box on my new 64bit laptop. Very fast install too.

Using GNU/Linux

I ran Mepis for about 5 years but KDE4 eventually got to me.  I've been running Mint Debian  with Gnome desktop for a year now. Excellent.  I liked Mepis and never thought I'd leave, being a died in the wool KDE man, but I couldn't get the basic thinking behind 4.  I also have a suspicion that I'll be looking at the more basic desktops when Gnome goes ballistic soon.
