is there a website somewhere that this can be put on to, something like the ubuntu or linux counter, so a few questions on the hardware and os version and uptime see if we can find who has the longest uptime. it could be a popular website and people fight for the top spot.Gordon Henderson wrote:Thats pretty epic Gordon, good work, there is always something disheartening about rebooting a box after it has hit such a good uptime. My longest running box: # uptime 22:22:21 up 1374 days, 2:42, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.02, 0.00just over 3 years and 8 months. I have to reboot it now to install a new kernel to support IPv6. (It's a router)Ah well! GordonDave
i wonder if windows has an uptime command or facility, mind you on friday i had the windows 7 add / remove programs tool stop responding. (ms money removal)
its bad enough it saying if i remove a program i can no longer open files associated with it or even use the program (duh, kinda obvious ) but the files will still be there but i need the same version of ms money to open them.
anyway windows 7 box at the lighthouse is not being used, well i could use it as a door stop for a while i guess, then install something on it like ubuntu or that chrome os linux that i mentioned earlier, should work nicely with 1gb ram.
