Wheezy running here, dist-upgraded a week or so back (squeeze also), I
haven't noticed any changes.
/etc/resolv.conf is normally a link to /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf
/etc/resolvconf/run is itself a link to /lib/init/rw/resolvconf
In my case I do it a little different because I get better results with
opendns than my ISP stuff. What I do is rename (the link)
/etc/resolv.conf then make a new /etc/resolv.conf with this text:
nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 208.67.220.220
Don't remember where I found the info to set it up like that but it works.
