I have been looking at it - it's not ready enough yet...
Although saying that, isn't the Maemo distro based on Debian anyway? I guess if it was me I'd go for the Debian based distro.
Yes, it's based on Debian. I'll probably keep my n900 as it is until it dies - then get a proper Android phone.. The n900 is missing a few things to be fully android compliant (e.g. the buttons are mapped differently)
That article is right about it (n900) not being as slick as it ought to be though - I think it's the same processor & speed that's in the HTC Desire which my wife has, and I'm impressed at just how fast her phone is. With talking GPS, etc....
