Hi All, I'm having a spot of bother with Ubuntu 9.0.4 feeding into an Iiyama 505 monitor, via a Rextron 4-way KVM switch. Under the previous configuration feeding 4PCs into a smaller monitor, all was well running at 1024 x 768. Under the new configuration, three PCs (two XP, one ME) work fine, and all three have been set to 1280 x 1024. However the Ubuntu PC goes into a low resolution mode, but the original 1024 x 768 screen is available by moving the cursor to the edge of the screen, then the view slides across. Is this what used to be known as virtual desktop? When I try to set the Ubuntu PC to 1280 x 1024, it rabbits on about "graphics driver does not support necessary extensions" and invites me to use the graphics driver vendor's tool, which doesn't work. Rebooting didn't help. Have any of you met a similar problem before, and how did you get out of it please? Regards etc, Ray Knowles. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
