> In Ubuntu there is a checkbox "Available to All Users" in "edit connection." You get to it by right clicking the network icon (on the panel in Gnome). Assuming Mint is the same, that needs to be checked (as root) to allow other users to use the connection (applies to ethernet too). Phil Thanks, Phil. I found it and made the change and it now works. Brilliant. How weird is that? I find it a very strange set up. Surely if you have an Internet connection set up you want if to be for everyone. what also confused me is that I first set up the new user in a room with a wired connection and that worked just fine. And, further to that, why is the little check box so well hidden? I doubt that I would ever have noticed it. This may be of use to others too, or am the only one in ignorance? Could be!! thanks again Neil -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
