Well, since it's in the open now: http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=10/10/21/181234 and other places if you google..Over the years there has been several root exploits in Linux - fortunately they get fixed pretty quickly on the whole - try googling for kernel 2.6.18 exploits for example...
