Dear all Have I missed something? I received an email saying a recent post to the list could not be delivered. The sender was Mailer-Daemon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx retry timeout exceeded" What's happening? The message was in reply to Simon Robert as follows "On Fri, 2010-10-08 at 12:05 +0100, Simon Robert -Cottage wrote: > if you do manage to get the .evolution files off to somewhere else you > should be OK. There is also a > backup option on the file menu. He did both. We got a gui for evolution (and firefox) - without the desktop manager's facility to resize the windows and did a complete backup. We also did a rsync for the whole of his user folder including all .files! I haven't heard from him since he left yestreday evening and he was confident about the remaining options guys in the LUG offered including reinstalling in at least 3 ways without reformatting when it was from his Live usb. I just got a bit paranoid about how password encryption works thinking it might do it differently if he had to reset the accounts with the same password. I'll confirm how he got on later. Thanks again to all who offered ideas - I'll let you know the solution."
