Results are acceptable - not wonderful, but certainly better than a handwritten disc, or even a disc with one of those horrible disc-size sticky labels on it. I bought a spindle of 50 LightScribe DVDs - Â10 (eBuyer). I have a ridiculously large box of empty DVD cases - free on Freecycle (I haven't counted them yet - maybe that's a job for this afternoon). I haven't looked at the cost of printing DVD case inserts at work yet but I get the impression they're quite happy to do things like this for cost (or almost cost). I haven't looked at the cost of printing The Ubuntu Manual at work yet, but likewise on costs. I've mentioned this before, but I'll mention it again: I have made an Ubuntu logo suitable for LightScribing (well, it's mono). If anyone has the skills to improve upon it, then that'd be awesome: http://www.thymox.co.uk/Ubuntu_LightScribe.svg Alternatively, if you have an alternative that you think would look good, give me a shout! Bear in mind that LightScribe is 'greyscale' only (well, it's not exactly grey, but you get the idea) and that the centre hole must be centred in the image (like in my SVG above). I have also taken an existing DVD case insert (from http://goo.gl/eqEa) and modified it slightly (changed the bit that said 'More information blah blah blah") and hid the screenshot on the front cover (I thought it looked better without one): http://www.thymox.co.uk/Ubuntu_10.04_DVD_Cover-GIMP.xcf Again, if anyone fancies improving upon it, be my guest. I am going to be finding out the costs of running an evening class at College (where I work). There would have to be some costs incured by the 'students' - I would be giving my tutoring time freely, but room usage will undoubtedly cost money which would need to be recouped. It is my intention to try and get this down to a bare minimum to make the course more attractive. I know, I know, but if people approach it with the mindset of "I thought it was supposed to be free... why is the course so expensive?" then that won't necessarily help the cause in the first instance. I was thinking something like the Ubuntu Desktop Training course, but that seems to have ground to a halt (I'm on their mailing list).
