I've still got to check if the Lighthouse would be considered competition for the Music Mill, I personally don't see it, I think they have different goals, and in fact would probably work quite well together (getting bands who record stuff at the Music Mill to perform at the Lighthouse, and get bands who perform at the Lighthouse to record stuff at the Music Mill). RobTalk to aly or mark about this, may be a bit hectic for them tomorrow with all these bands playing etc, but its something to look into
In the first instance I've sent a message to Lizi at The Music Mill (one of the senior staff there). They might be able to work together. I'm just thinking the Music Mill IS a professional recording studio/media/dance facility, they have professional kit (developed by top engineers) and know their stuff.
i gave phil the constitution so once you have sent him a list of what is needed ( and what your company needs i guess) then i guess that will set the ball rolling.
Well for tomorrow at least we could do with a 100Mbit PCI network card and some patch cables.
I'm going to bring along a 5 port 100MBit switch and my old BT router which also does 100Mbit. Should be enough for a couple of PCs hanging off the server.
Have they got some sort of internet connection working there now? Rob -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
