It has gone up since 2010 came out, but it is ~£50 for an "academic"
version of Office 2010 Pro. (they used to offer a much cheaper version
that only lasted for 1 year).

It might depend on the educational establishment and course, but you
can often get access to MSDNAA which provides tons of software
(including Windows 7, but not the main Office suite) for free.
