Yes - sort of. It depends on the country. In the UK the 5GHz band is typically carved up into 3 separate bands - the ones we'd use are centered round 5.2GHz for indoor kit, or 5.5GHz for outdoor kit (which is allowed more power) These are for mobile type devices - (laptops, etc., rather than phones!)
There's also a 3rd band supposed to be used for point to point kit - round about 5.8GHz and that is allowed even more power output, but I think you need a license for that - will need to check.
