Haha! I know what that's like from both sides - as a student and as a lecturer! :D > [back on topic]... > > Part of the new assignment is to create a poster! It _must_ be in > electronic form. My votes go to, in (my) order of preference: 1) OpenOffice.org's Draw 2) Inkscape 3) Other In my opinion OOo Draw has the easiest-to-understand interface and can produce some outstanding documents... however it doesn't *seem* to have the level of features of Inkscape and the like. Inkscape can do pretty much anything DTP-wise that you chose to throw at it... but if you've never used tools like it before you may find some of the tools and options a bit confusing (Lord knows, I do!). As has been mentioned, both can export to PDF easily. > PS, the printing of the A3 version will be done at a copy shop of some > sort, so potential file format incompatibility issues?? The copyshop should be able to accept/print PDF files. Indeed when I spoke to the reprographics dept. at work (I work for a College of FE) they said they *prefer* PDF over any other format (proprietary or otherwise).
