On this, it maybe worth getting hold of a few opendiscs. ok its windows , but get people using open office and they are ready if they ever move to Linux. http://www.theopendisc.com/ ok this is now a dvd but it may help, esp if getting people along is an issue, lets get people over slowly, once they are through the door, we can then explain the advantages of using open standards, such as odf, rather than .doc / .docx and related. We still need to remember there are going to be people that need to save as MS formats for school, work etc etc. Paul - -- Paul Sutton - www.zleap.net DCGLUG MEETINGS Next Paignton Lug meet : 3pm Saturday June 5th - Shoreline Next Holsworthly meet : 2pm Saturday June 19th - White Hart -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkvm58cACgkQaggq1k2FJq1s1QCfRAYkmt35IzbW/s5brGtnwpD9 dKwAn3zeB5e+z3U2zJ14VDq1yFd0osAG =UOk7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
