I've just posted a message on the Ubuntu-UK mailing list, never know, there may be some more folks out there in Devon & Cornwall who don't know about us...
The message I sent is below... Hi folks,I wasn't sure if any of the other members of the list were in or near to Devon (well I know Paul Sutton is in Paignton).
Anyway, I figured I'd mention about the Devon & Cornwall LUG meetings in case anyone is in or near Devon and would like to come along.
Well I say meetings, they're more social events where we chat about Linux, computing in general and all sort of things or help each other out.
We have two meetings scheduled next month, the first is in South Devon in Paignton at The Shoreline restaurant (see www.paigntonbeach.com for location details). The meetings in Paignton are generally held on the first Saturday of every month at 3pm, although they can occasionally change depending on other events going on (for instance last week there was a bikers festival going on so we put the meeting back a week).
The second meeting is in North Devon in Holsworthy at the White Hart (I gather it's a pub with family room in Holsworthy). The next meeting in Holsworthy is going to be on 19th June at 2pm (I'm not sure if it's going to be every third Saturday of the month).
Both venues are child and family friendly, The Shoreline has some good views over Paignton seafront and some good food, so maybe if you happen to come down to Devon on holiday I can recommend it.
We're also hoping to setup some other meetings in Devon and Cornwall, with a meeting possibly being setup in Exeter, one in Plymouth and possibly a meeting in Helston and Penzance.
So, if you're in or near Devon then you're welcome to come along. You can find out more details of the meetings we have at the Devon & Cornwall GNU/Linux User Group web site here: www.dcglug.org.uk/events
