Ooooh, "jelly mould" ADM 3a's. Jumpers for goalposts...
Wish I could remember the ones we had on the old pdp11... They literally
were glass TTYs - screen clear only, I think... The main computer
department at uny did replace most of their tty33's with ADA3a's, but they
didn't like us using them - set them to 1200 baud too because the system
(Prime) couldn't handle much more...
I wrote a set of librarys (in pascal!) for them to do basic screen
manipulation...
... and 8 years later I found myself writing termcap from scratch (with
only the SunOS man page to go on) as part of a *nix porting project I was
working on...
Anyone know of a curses X window manager?
apt-get install screen
Actually, years ago I worked on some software support for a system that
did windowing text-only displays. Can't recall what it was called now
though.
I wrote a set of routines to do window popping written in 6502 assembler
which ran on the Apple ][... Wish my old Apple ][ still worked. Wish I
still had a disc drive for it. Bet the 5.25" floppys I have in the loft
don't read anymore though...
