Yeah HP drivers are bundled in a ginormous .exe with a crapload of apps, especially if its a 3-in 1 like this one is. If you tell it 'Its not connected yet, don't search' the exe terminates and no printer is installed. If you connect, it waits for windows to do its thing finding the printer, installing the drivers, and then continues. I presume while its running it hosts the drivers in a temp folder and deletes this folder on exit. If you try and use the windows list of drivers even on the XP machine which has been using it locally, it shows earlier versions but not this specific model. [Have disk] cant find the drivers because they are locked up in that .exe Oh yeah, and another thing. There are 2 variants of this driver. Net and NoNet. Vista and Win7 drivers are NoNet. I think this may be related to why it stops mid-send when using it with the printserver. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
