Thanks for the advice, Rhia. BIOS reset didn't help, nor did pulling
stuff, hence my asking for repair places, as they should have far better
diagnostic tools than just me replacing CPU, mobo etc. on an (almost) ad
hoc basis.
All this is made worse due to lack of alternative hardware to use whilst
testing.
