Edward: hopefully if my interview goes ok tomorrow then I'll be going to plymouth uni for the next three years, so I'll definitely be up for geekiness there, although not that soon (september!).
John W:
I've missed every DCLUG meet since I joined, but I'll have to get thrown out before I'm going anywhere else - the real centre of this group is here on the internet to me.
The reason that the meets happen where they do is probably down to proximity of members. If there are 15 people in say Truro (pulled it out of the hat), I could hardly expect them to drive to Barnstaple because I live there, although I do lament the fact we seem a little geek-less up here.
At the end of the day, if you can find members in your area, there's nothing stopping you from organising a meet - if you've got a back garden and a barbecue I reckon you'll be over-run before you can shout "tribbles!".
