I think the world should run on UTC myself and scrap the timezones however...

Actually it should be GMT. (Same time as UTC, but not invented by the French which is always a plus point).

Quick dive into bunker for flame-proof jacket.

Any option that does away with daylight savings hour (or whatever you want to call it) suits me fine.
