Perhaps you need to simply focus on 1 or 2 distros or just on ubuntu, however mint (based on ubuntu) does have content filtering so would perhaps be good for people with children. again you have a choice, why would an adult want a desktop with filtering, it adds extra bloat, windows comes with family centre (or whatever its called) whihc is fine, but if you don't need it, it probably going to get in the way.
