Ahh, i was looking for something a bit newer then the T2x.
I'm trying to replace a one of the 8375 clones that's hinges have completely gone, so something at least 1.4GHz processor, nice large screenres, maybe not SVGA+ but at least larger then not XGA, 256/512 MB Ram, and either easily exchangable HDD or one thats a decent size so i could partition into /, /home, and Windows for college apps. say 60GB.

Superb quality, usually very Linux friendly. I've had a 600, 600X, 570E, 760, T20, T22, and my beat-up T23 is still going as my primary laptop. Unfortunately the Lenovo ThinkPads just aren't of the same quality as the old models. That said, I don't have any direct experience with any ThinkPads newer than my T23.
Hey while we're on the subject of Lenovo/IBM, any tips on Thinkpads to
avoid, either for reliability or not Linux compatible? I'm not having a
lot of luck with my usual tactics for obtaining an ebay bargain (2
laptops sent back to the seller DOA so far) so Im now focusing on a
brand known for reliability.
It depends what spec/cost you're looking for I guess.
