I am now climbing the walls till Christmas so I can unwrap Unseen Academicals.
Fortunately my birthday was relatively recent ;-) I'm about halfway through.
Very sad to think that we may be coming to the end of these sparkling gems of insight, wit and imagination.Agreed, I am going to be lost without any new Discworld to read, the last few years his books are the only ones I have bothered to read, the New Scientist ones being the only exception... Oh, and books on learning Bash and the shell, got a few of those I am constantly dipping back into.
I find myself reading technical manuals more and more.Very annoyed that I've just spent about 75 quid to buy a BSI "Standard" to find it was a mere 14 pages with the first and last 3 pages having nothing more than waffle in them. £7.50 a page for information I already knew, but had to prove that my software adheres to the standard. Bah.
