I find nv isn't a problem for me but recently with upgrades 9.10 screwed up completely - comes across a "We've got to start in low res" error due to xkb. I can't submit this as a bug as my Internet's too slow. Sometimes it would not display anything and sometimes after pressing OK a few times it would start as normal. Unfortunately my laptop has the same problem (Intel graphics) and the display screws up (remember duplication due to resolution errors?) and when I could finally manage to read it and press buttons I would only get a black screen most of the time. I blame an X update. So... I'm going to install Chakra soon, maybe. My sound issues disappeared slowly from my laptop and completely from my desktop after removing pulseaudio* from apt.
