Okay, what you need to do is go to the Grism web site, select the Download option and then click on:I wrote earlier about the problem of installing grism. I wrote the following: I run Kubuntu 9.10 on a PC on which I should like to install grism. The installation instructions state: "Grism is _now_ available from the command line as /usr/bin/grism or from the Applications menu under "Office"." I have tried both these options but to no avail. I may be doing something incorrectly and wonder if a kind soul might try installing the grism programme and let me know how to do it. I have since reread the instructions and may have missread the above. The word "now" does not it appears mean straightaway install grism as one needs also to take the previous steps listed. I shall have another go tomorrow. John W Hansen
grism_0.9.0-1_all.debIt should ask you what you want to do, clicking on the link in Firefox on Ubuntu 9.10 it gives the option of opening the .deb package with GDebi or to save it to the hard disk. If it was me I would select the option to open with GDebi and then click the Install Package button.
It would download about 12 other packages which Grism depends on and then install Grism, it should then be found under Applications -> Office.
I would have thought the process would be similar under Kubuntu 9.10, but I would guess
there would be a similar option to open the .deb package and install it. Rob Rob -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
