Hi As you are aware I am a keen railway modeller. There is talk of moving JMRI onto Java 1.6 and the question had been asked which versions of Linux can run 1.6 and which can not.So FarDebian 4 Yes Ubuntu 8.04 Yes In fact the problem is old windows machines and the real problem some not so old Macs. Thanks in advancePeter L-.J
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and its all repository installed and have got: java version "1.6.0_0" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.6.1) (6b16-1.6.1-3ubuntu1) OpenJDK Client VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode, sharing)seems to be OK - I get a problem with Netbeans 6.7.1 (odd stalling conditions) which is pure java and possibly using threading which may be badly coded?
