2009/12/4 james kilty <james@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>: > He said that the Party has a proud tradition of consideration for the > productive use of modern IT. I'm a paid up member and lib dem blogger, and I say that's complete bollocks. The only productive use of Modern IT the lib dem party activists and great/good are interested in are using facebook, etc to campaign - hence we have Lynne Featherstone in charge of a funded body looking at how to use IT for electioneering.. but no Policy, Policy Working Group or shadow-spokesperson with ICT in their portfolio. I am ashamed to say the Tories are well ahead when it comes to IT, although how much of that is (like many of their modernisations) a paper thin vaneer over an unchanged and backwards party and support-base I don't know (I'm guessing it ammounts to literally a couple of well placed people who can make a lot of noise).. heck even Labour with their record of p*** poor project management and dodgy IT deals have a couple of halfway competent MPs and Spokespeople for stuff like the "Digital Economy", E-Envoy, etc (just a shame they don't actually acheive anything much).
