I think we've all done things we think are a good idea, watch them go wahoonie shaped - and then think 'whoops!'Thought I'd send postmaster email to my google account whilst I migrated email server settings. Thinking it would make it easy to read any error messages.
Mine was on IRC back before mIRC came with features scripted as standard. I created two simple [but as it transpired deadly in concert] scripts; one to boot out clones, and one to auto rejoin a channel. This was on dial-up. I went to a channel on my own to test them. Then the lag set in.
Connection dropped. I reconnected and rejoined the channel. My old login was still hanging there - you just KNOW where this is going....
The clone script saw two of us. Kicked me. The auto-rejoin script rejoined. The clone script saw two of us. Kicked me. Rinse and repeat. 30 seconds later mIRC locked up solid.
